I have no hesitation in recommending Browns. From the start they were the most professional builders that we spoke to and gave us detailed quotes so that we could budget. They approached all problems during the build in a calm manner which is really important as the customer. We recently had an extension and new kitchen fitted with Browns Building Solutions. From the outset Steve and his team were helpful, informative and gave good advice about what we could and couldn’t do with our property. The quote he gave us was competitive and within the parameters of our budget. As the building work progressed it soon became clear that Steve and his workmen were hard working, conscientious and very mindful about the amount of disruption we were experiencing. They were completely trustworthy, and I didn’t ever worry about them having access to the house for the 12 weeks they were with us. Every night they would clean and tidy around and were sensitive to the needs of us as a family. Steve let us know at all stages where they were at with the work, including discussing any amendments to the plan. All the additional tradesmen Steve used were also professional, hardworking and of value to the building work. The work itself was skilled and of an excellent standard. Steven was the principal contractor in building an extension to a 1953 Bungalow that had not changed since its own construction in 1953. The original Bungalow stood at Circa 800 Square feet and the single storey extension placed it around 2000 Sqft.
The extension included the following rooms:
A Second family bathroom
A third bedroom
A plant room,
A Utility room,
A new lounge
A kitchen measuring 6.5m x 5.5m x 4.5m high
The kitchen was filmed during construction and used by channel 5 in a program called:

Steve, and his team were polite, hardworking, and met a very demanding time scale set by us as we could not live in the property as we also required the old Bungalow to be completely rewired, re-plastered and we
also wanted the old floors lifting and replaced in line with current building standards.
The build started May 2021 and we were able to move into a fully decorated Bungalow towards the end of October 2021. During this period Steve had to cope with two major issues.

Rising price of building materials never seen before.
Due to Steve’s excellent relationship with his Supply chain, the material always arrived when required and the price was held at the same price in the original quote. Extra charges to the original quote were for extra
work that either I or my wife asked for. All extra’s were always in agreement between both parties and prices agreed prior to commencement.
Steve is an excellent Project Manager and his skill on the tools is second to none. Steve’s professionalism showed very early when the price of roof timber started to rise at unheard of levels. Steve was aware and discussed that it would be wise to order the material early and store on site. This showed his commitment to controlling overall spend on our behalf.
Steve provided the most detailed quote. We had quotes from several builders some more expensive than Steve and one was cheaper but when I asked for a contract Steve said Yes, he will provide one whilst others just said don’t worry about that, but that is exactly what I did do. During the build, Steve would
always provide a detailed invoice and an amended Quote, Steve would reduce cost if something was not needed and again these points were always discussed.
He is incredibly hard working, Always the first on site and always the last to leave, if I raised a point with Steve and he needed to investigate, I would always have an answer before 0600 the following morning.
I have mentioned Steve is a grafter, His team were the same, they followed his example. They were always polite and respectful. There were times when the most basic of questions needed to be asked, it was important to us, and Steve always took the time out to answer.
All other trades brought in were Steve’s tradesmen of choice, there were no issues with any of them. They all seemed to follow his approach.
This should be our final home, but if I am ever convinced to do this level of work, I know who I will be asking. If you are talking to Steve about work, He is a little quiet, a little reserved but let me warn you he is
an expert in his field of work. You are also more than welcome to knock our door and we can show you his work first hand.
The job is finished, we have the most fantastic home but more importantly I think we made a friend. We highly recommend this gentleman and his gang of merry tradesmen.
